‘Iran visual arts sees breakthrough’

Iran Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi says the country has gone through a major breakthrough in the field of visual arts.

Salehi said following a visit on Sunday to the 10th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts in Tehran that “the interdisciplinary arts are moving forward step-by-step, leading to the creation of new arts.”

“I saw that there has been significant progress in the interdisciplinary arts via the Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts,” he emphasized.

New ideas are also seen among the displayed artworks, he stated.

Recently, ‘The Elephant King’ director, Hadi Mohammadian, said that Hollywood animation studios like Pixar would praise Iranian endeavors in the field, particularly his work if they knew how a small group in Iran was able to do the project on a tight budget.

The 10th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts opened in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on January 23 and will continue until February 23.
